For April’s installment of Free Speech, we filed into our west end PDX store to hear tales about finding the silver lining– the break in the clouds, the moral of the story, the good that resulted from the bad, etc. We switched the status quo this month and had 7 amazing storytellers, all of which were either non-binary (gender non-conforming) or male identified! It was a true blue treat to hear different perspectives and give some space for these amazing folks to be heard.
In honor of Women’s History month (and the ‘luckiest’ month), we showed up for another round of everyone’s fave storytelling event. Folks filed into Wildfang West once again to celebrate womxn and their incredible stories. The theme was FEELIN’ LUCKY, and I gotta say– the crowd was definitely feelin’ it!

Welcome back for another round of everyone’s fave storytelling event: Free Speech! Now that we’ve all recovered from the holiday hangover and have a slight grip on the new year, we were ready to dive back in to some stories of FAME. We heard tales of the spotlight, of recognition, of desires. By the end of the night, I’m pretty sure we all were seeing stars.

Laci Jordan is a phenomenal artist and creative director from Huntsville, Alabama currently living in Los Angeles. She’s also the designer behind our exclusive Wild Feminist design for Black History Month. Not only does she have a background at Disney, she’s also a talented photographer who’s taken portraits of Ava Duvernay and Yara Shahidi, had her illustrations featured on Hypebeast, AND even hosts her own podcast. We talked with her about Oprah, her inspiration for this design, and her background in criminal justice. Check it out.
