5 Stories To Be Proud Of (Free Speech June 2018)

With so much in this country to be discouraged about, it was a breath of fresh air to gather together again for Free Speech. Folks piled into Wildfang West and used their hearts to listen and honor each other’s stories. The power of empathy is palpable when people start spilling stories, and our June F.S. was definitely one for the books.

Pride can mean so many different things. We are so proud of each and every person in the Wildfang family, and beyond. Our immense pride for the LGBTQIA+ community (and each other) doesn’t end just because June is over– it’s a 24/7 kinda thing, 365 damn days a year.

Find Your Silver Lining In These 7 Stories (Free Speech April 2018)

For April’s installment of Free Speech, we filed into our west end PDX store to hear tales about finding the silver lining– the break in the clouds, the moral of the story, the good that resulted from the bad, etc. We switched the status quo this month and had 7 amazing storytellers, all of which were either non-binary (gender non-conforming) or male identified! It was a true blue treat to hear different perspectives and give some space for these amazing folks to be heard.

The Two Words That Stand Between You & Your Next Big Idea


On April 15th, 3,200 Portlanders crammed themselves into the Keller Auditorium in search of an idea worth spreading at TEDx Portland. As the lights dimmed our fearless leader and CEO Emma Mcilroy took the stage to share the two little words that she believes stand between you and your next big idea. Emma’s story reminds us that we each have a choice, every single day, to see possibility or shut it down.
